Trill League
As a blerd, I am ashamed to say I only heard of Trill League a couple of months ago. This. Is. Dope. Trill League is a parody of DC's Justice League, except cooler and funnier. This dope comic, and hopefully soon-to-be [adult swim] cartoon, was created by self-taught Chicago-based illustrator, Anthony "Blk Ant" Piper. He combined his love for manga with his love for hip-hop, and the Trill League was born! Volume 1 of Trill League began with Wondeisha and Swoleman having their

Black History Month is Going to be Turnt!
Image Comics has been steadily piquing my interest. Their latest announcement is pure Chicken Soup for the Blerd Soul. Black History in its Own Words by Ronald Wimberly (Prince of Cats) will be available in stores...drumroll please...FEBRUARY 2017! Just in time for Black History Month. The work caries quotes, portraits and illustrations of Black role models and leaders drawn by Wimberly.
Among those represented are Angela Davis, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Kanye West, Zadie Smith

New Hip Hop Manga Called 'Tephlon Funk'
Artist and New Yorker, Stephane Metayer has undertaken a new literary and artistic project called "Tephlon Funk!" She says that her inspiration comes from "Akira Toriyama, Osamu Tezuka, Katsuhiro Otomo, Bengus, Aikman, Kentaro Miura & Miyazaki." But, his biggest influence was Nas's 1994 debut album Illmatic. 10 Facts About BAE!
Ok...so Black Panther and I are not an item. A girl can dream though. Marvel just released this video in an attempt to get fans hyped for the film's Black History Month release in 2018 (as well to promote the comic book written by one of intellectual crushes, Ta-Nehisi Coates). First, let's just say that Black History Month 2018 is going to be lit! I suggest everyone start stocking up on Black Panther (T'Challa), Storm, Black Power Ranger, Nick Fury, Miles Morales and War Mac

#BlackGuyNerds
I love Black Nerd and Geek Culture. It's so nice to have a safe and welcoming environment to geek out and cosplay in. Needless to say, when I came across Black Girl Nerds, I felt right at home. One of the things that I admire about Black Girl Nerds, is that they also noticed a lack of social media representation for black male nerds. Just yesterday, @BlackGirlNerds wondered where all the Black guy nerds were at. I mean, can you blame them? I rarely got to see the nerdy side

Batman: An All Black Cast, a Blerd's dream...
There's been a couple photos on facebook of a Black actors and sctresses as some of the most beloved and infamous characters from the DC Universe. Some of the cast choices were good, but I felt I needed to weigh in on the topic. Below is my dream cast for an all black starring cast. They will interact with every race, creed, color, religion, etc., but the Black actors and actresses will be the stars...unlike most Hollywood movies. Anyway, here goes: For the role of Bruce Wayn
