I've read "The Mountaintop"
Golly-gee-willickers! If you haven't read, seen or even heard about "The Mountaintop" by Katori Hall, I highly suggest you get on that!
In short, "The Mounntaintop " is about Martin Luther King Jr.'s last night on earth. He spends his night in a moral and existential debate witha young mysterious maid.
THIS. SCRIPT. WOW!
Katori Hall does any amazing job of illustrating King as a man, a human, a person with flaws and a heart full of love and sometimes regret. This is a definite read for not just adults, but high school seniors as well. There may be teachers out there that disagree with, and I'm not saying it's something that should be assigned as reading, but I do believe inner-city high school seniors would benefit a lot from this book as it offers another prospective of a man who isn't really given any depth in the history books they are forced to read.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and enthusiastically reccommend it!
